My 100th rock show consisted of a solid performance by Poison. LiveNation actually did something cool and sold tickets for $10.30 with service charges the day before the show, since nobody originally bought tickets. Even with this deal, the stadium was far from packed.

Of what I can remember, the highlights were “Ride The Wind,” “Fallen Angel,” and “I Won’t Forget You.” I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t play “Cry Tough.”

Overall, it was your typical Poison show: predictable but a good time.

The opening bands were Dokken and Sebastian Bach. I love them both, but once again I spent too much time in the parking lot, hanging out with some cool people, thus missing the opening acts.

The next shows I am going to see are both on Wednesday and both part of the LiveNation $10.30 ticket promotion. I am going to the Mayhem Festival at Nassau Coliseum which begins at 2:00 to see Black Tide, DragonForce, Machine Head, and Disturbed, then I am driving to Jones Beach at 8:30 to see Stone Temple Pilots. I am giving Scott Weiland one last chance after the horror show he put on in May at PNC Bank.

  1. Sounded like a blast and a show I would have liked to attend. From what I’ve seen on YouTube, Dokken still rocks after all these years. As for Sebastian, everyone knows he gets better with age. Finally, as you said and from what I seen on the video, Poison looked solid as well. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it.

PS: I hope your STP Experience is much more enjoyable than the last time.

  2. No problem. I think Scott Weiland will rock this week. He just had a really bad drug day and I shouldn’t keep holding that against him.

  3. Yeah, it should be back soon. I am having some trouble with the domain forwarding. It should eventually go directly to this page with links back to the old pages. I want my writers to be able to post on here anytime they want rather than me having to edit all the articles and stuff. Hopefully, I’ll get this sorted out over the next day or two.

  4. Had an off-topic question, was wondering if “gearsofrock.com” will be back online soon? It hasn’t really worked for me the past few days.

  5. Sounds good, I enjoy the articles which is one of the reasons why I asked when it would be back. Thanks for the quick reply.
