After putting out numerous demos, Italian gore metal troupe Ghouls have finally released a full-length record, Until It Bleeds, an eight-track self-titled affair that champions a hearty old school death metal appeal with a barrage of depraved lyrical content that borders the redundancy line. Radiating the retro brutality of Obituary and Cannibal Corpse on “The Messiah of Torture and Perversion” while harkening back to the heyday of shock with song titles like “Menstrual Vaginal Cry,” Ghouls may be a bit too late to the party, but they do manage to find a niche by scraping through the entrails and keeping the aura bloodsoaked on tracks like appropriately slice and dice sachet of “Snuff Movie.” www.myspace.com/despisethesunrecords -Mike SOS
