New Fear Factory Album “The Industrialist” Drops June 5 – US Tour Dates in May

Fear Factory’s new record The Industrialist will hit the stores on June 5, 2012.  Here is more from the press release:

Candlelight Records today confirms June 5 as the North American release date for FEAR FACTORY‘s new album, The Industrialist. Produced by the band with Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly), the album was mixed by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost/Skinny Puppy/Machine Head). It features additional tracking by Logan Mader (Gojira/Divine Heresy/Five Finger Death Punch) and artwork by Anthony Clarkson (Devin Townsend).

The Industrialist is a conceptual album that brings to life a story scripted by vocalist Burton C. Bell. The album’s lyrics detail the plot of the original narrative while delivering FEAR FACTORY‘s massive signature sound. Bell reveals, “the album is a futuristic tale of an automaton, striving to survive by fighting for its existence within a desperate world. The lyrics tell the story while the music takes our industrial roots and blends them more perfectly than ever with our metal edge. And all without losing the sound that makesFEAR FACTORY a machine of sonic devastation. FEAR FACTORY fans of any era will not be disappointed.”

Halestorm “Love Bites (So Do I)” Live Acoustic Video

Rock band Halestorm performed a killer acoustic rendition of “Love Bites (So Do I)” for Kerrang! Radio.  Check it out below.  There aren’t enough women fronting hard rock bands these days and Lzzy Hale is one of the best rock vocalists out there right now.

Halestorm’s new album The Strange Case of… featuring the single “Love Bites” comes out April 10.

Love this Halestorm cover of Skid Row’s “Slave to the Grind” from 2011’s ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP:

Motley Crue Back in the Studio Recording Brand New Song

Motley Crue is back in Tommy Lee’s studio recording a brand new song.  This news is coming off of the band’s successful Las Vegas spectacle and rumors of a fall tour with Kiss.  Here is more from bassist Nikki Sixx:

Been in the recording studio cutting new Motley Crue with the guys.We are recording at Tommy’s studio ( which is insane ) and James Micheal is producing. We laid down the bass and drums yesterday and Mick Mars comes in today to blast the guitars. Then Vince is coming in next week to do his vocals….Havent been in the studio in a few years with the guys and it feel’s like magic…Hard to explain what it sounds like other than just straight out sexy…maybe throw some dirt and sarcasm on top too..

Pre-order Dee Snider’s New Book “Shut Up and Give Me the Mic” – Comes Out May 8, 2012

Twisted Sister frontman and reality TV star (Celebrity Apprentice/Growing Up Twisted) Dee Snider has a new book coming out on May 8, titled Shut Up and Give Me the Mic.

You can pre-order your own autographed hardcover copy at Premiere Collectibles for only $26.00.  You can also pre-order a non-autographed copy at Amazon in hardcover for $16.98 or on the Kindle for $12.99.

Dee Snider is an intelligent, charismatic, and badass rock star so I’d say that Shut Up and Give Me the Mic is definitely worth checking out.

Here is a description of Dee’s story from Simon & Schuster:

As lead singer and songwriter of Twisted Sister, Dee Snider became the poster boy for heavy metal, hair bands, and the wild side of rock. Now, in his twisted new memoir, he reveals the real stories behind the crazy makeup, the big hair, and badass hits like “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”

A classically trained countertenor who sang with his high school choir, Dee remembers the day he decided he was “not gonna take it” and stopped caring what people thought about him. Following in the footsteps of his idols Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath, Dee jumped from band to band before meeting Jay Jay French and Twisted Sister. But it wasn’t until he met his costume-designing soul-mate Suzette that they developed his unique style. Dee’s hard work finally paid off with an impressive resume that includes: a monster hit record; smash MTV videos; a long-running radio show, “The House of Hair”; appearances in film (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Howard Stern’s Private Parts, StrangeLand) and television (Growing Up Twisted, Celebrity Apprentice); and a starring role in Broadway’s Rock of Ages. He even authored a teenage survival guide that was required reading in Russia!

In his journey from every parent’s worst teenage nightmare to Renaissance man, Dee avoided the usual pitfalls associated with rock stars. But that didn’t stop Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center from targeting him—a fight that led him to testify before Congress with Frank Zappa. He may have been slapped with a Parental Advisory warning label, but, through it all, Dee stayed positive and focused on being the best he could be.

Filled with entertaining anecdotes and candid confessions, Shut Up and Give Me the Mic takes you through the good times and bad with a heavy metal star who worked as hard as he played, and who did it all for his wife, four kids, and millions of “SMF” (Sick Mother F******) fans

This story is mine.

I’m the guy that gave it all to beat the odds, left everything he had on the stage each night, didn’t screw around on his woman, took care of his kids, and was sober enough to remember it all and write about it . . . myself.

The one thing that has surprised and confused me, though, is my unlikely transformation into a “beloved public figure.” How did the unpopular kid, who grew up to be the angry young man, who became the ’80s poster boy for the evils of rock ’n’ roll, arrested for profanity and assault, and boycotted by parents and religious groups, become the likeable mensch he is today?

The 2012 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival will feature Slipknot, Slayer, Motorhead, Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel, and High on Fire.  Pretty much the best lineup in recent years.

I just read that the main stage headliners will be Slipknot who will follow Slayer…Am I the only one that sees something incredibly wrong with that?

Whatever, here are the tour dates.
