Some people have been asking about Metallica’s Orion Festival in Atlantic City on June 24 and June 25 at Bader Field.  Yes, it is true that Metallica is one of my all-time favorites…but no, I will not buy tickets, can’t do it.  Big Four at Yankee Stadium = Amazing.  Metallica with Cage the Elephant and 20 other mediocre alt-rock bands = WEAK.  Except for the fact that Metallica is performing Ride the Lightning in its entirety and Avenged Sevenfold, there is not much there.  Not worth the trip to dirty southern Jersey for me, not worth the long festival days, not worth the $150 tickets + hotel…but again, that is just me.

  1. Metallica is better bescaue they are still here longevity wins. James Hetfield can not win a vocal battle with too many singers, but he kicks Phil Anselmo right in the A@@.Pantera was OK but they were completely derivative. Metallica spawned a genre. They are on the Mount Rushmore of Rock as far as I am concerned.The loss of Dimebag was tragic, I would have liked to have seen them evolve without Phil Anselmo but we will never know what was to be.
