Italian modern hard rockers Lacuna Coil performed a solid set of old and new songs at the PNC Bank Arts Center off exit 116 of the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, Friday night, May 11. The band took the stage at approximately 7 p.m. to open the 2012 Rob Zombie-Megadeth tour.

The song selection for the evening was pretty good and frontwoman Cristina Scabbia looked and sounded fantastic. The band was really tight, providing a solid rhythm section for the metal diva.

Male singer Andrea Ferro’s vocals started the set sounding muddy, until his mic levels were adjusted. The sound man also battled several feedback issues, clicks, and screeches in the middle of the set.

The crowd rolled in slowly throughout the band’s performance, but as it did, the Jersey fans were totally digging the experience. A woman in section 303 row N filmed the entire set so I am sure it will be up for viewing soon.

All in all, Lacuna Coil was a great opener for Rob Zombie and Megadeth. Scabbia’s vocals soar, she’s one of the best in the business—a wonderful spectacle.
