#87. Queensryche / Best Bands of All-Time / Top 100

Progressive heavy metal band Queensrÿche shows up on the Gears of Rock Top 100 Countdown in the #87 position. These guys dropped three consecutive platinum records in the late ’80s and early ’90s, including the great concept album “Operation: Mindcrime.” Queensrÿche is best known for their hit ballad “Silent Lucidity” and the Grammy-nominated track “I Don’t Believe in Love.” Their best songs are “Empire,” “Eyes of a Stranger,” “Bridge,” “Jet City Woman,” “I Don’t Believe in Love,” “Queen of the Reich,” “Operation: Mindcrime,” and “Take Hold of the Flame.”

Fun Fact: Since Geoff Tate was fired from the band in 2012, there have been two separate Queensrÿche lineups touring and releasing albums. One version of the band features Tate and the other features vocalist Todd La Torre.
