#73. Foo Fighters / Best Bands of All-Time / Top 100

The Foo Fighters are one of the most highly skilled hard rock bands to ever exist and that is why this band is #73 on the Gears of Rock’s Top 100 Countdown of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Bands.  The fact that the band grew out of Nirvana is mind-boggling.  Foo Fighters are far from an alternative grunge rock band in every sense.  Frontman David Grohl is a genius song writer and extremely knowledgeable in all facets of the music business.  The best songs by the Foo Fighters are “All My Life,” “Hey, Johnny Park!,” “My Hero,” “Everlong,” “The Pretender,” “Best of You,” and Monkey Wrench.”

Best Song: “Best of You” (2005)

Best Album: “In Your Honour” (2005)

Best Tour: The Colour and the Shape Tour 1997

Most Valuable Member: David Grohl – Vocals/Guitar

Fun Fact: The band played a concert for Westboro Baptist Church protestors in 20011, making fun of the church’s nut-bar beliefs. It was hilarious.
