Guns N’ Roses released Appetite for Destruction on July 21, 1987. Since then the landmark hard rock album sold over 30 million copies [estimated from wikipedia], averaging 10 million copies per decade. That is remarkable considering the band was fairly inactive for 15+ years and didn’t even see a proper reunion of frontman Axl, guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff until 2015. Happy birthday GN’R. See you at Madison Square Garden in October.

Gears of Rock considers Appetite for Destruction to be the 14th greatest hard rock album of all-time. See the complete Top 100 list here.
