Crnkshft released their self-titled EP and it’s a hard driving ass kicker. In fact, this band kicks so much ass that it frightened all of the vowels away. That’s pretty much the best, and only, way to sum up these four high octane tracks. “Systematic” leads off the mayhem with melodic hooks by frontman Shane “Shanr” Jolie and dope guitar leads from the tandem of Sebastien “Sea Bass” Mark Pulse and Geoff “Gway” Way. It is quickly obvious why this track was voted Best Metal Song at the Academia Awards Academy in Los Angeles.

“Tears Me Apart” is a growler with a mud hole stomping finish, a potential modern rock radio hit. “Old Habits” showcases the drum talents of Josh Lauz while “Breaking The Silence” successfully crossbreeds Alice In Chains, Jonathan Davis, The X Files, and Pantera in that order.

This killer Vancouver band worked with producer Daren Grahn on the EP. Grahn has also engineered on albums for legendary rock giants such as Metallica, Motley Crue, and Bon Jovi. Check it out now. Crnkshft’s EP is hard rock’s finest 16 minutes out there right now.
