Sin Seer returns with a brand new single in association with True The Gray titled “SureStay”, which hits all streaming outlets on Tuesday, June 30th. The collaboration between both groups was heavily inspired by other collaborations taking place within in the Indie Underworld community.

“We’ve been fortunate enough to be part of a network of such talented musicians which has heavily inspired how we approach songwriting as of late. Bands like DemonScar, Creep Scene, David HK, and Ukranium to just name a few have been heavily influential in our work ethic with keeping momentum going. We knew it was only a matter of time before we set something up with some of those guys,” says vocalist Trey Saucillo.

With the song dialed in early on from Cameron McLendon [guitarist], Sin Seer’s better half, it looked as if the opportunity for collaboration was beginning to present itself.

“From a production standpoint, I knew it needed a little something more when it came to the chorus. We had a big chorus-like feel for the first time ever! It had to deliver. I knew it needed a melodic yet powerful voice that could really hone in the emotion I was trying to convey. I immediately thought of Pete, who has one of the best singing voices I’ve heard in a long while. I knew he’d be the guy for the job. And the rest as they say, is history,” said Saucillo.

Both bands, which are known for their intensity as well as their dynamics in their songwriting took a different kind of approach when it came to writing everything out.

“I took the lyrics they had suggested, and worked them around a bit. I just spent one night really working it out, and those are the takes we ended up going with. It was different for me vocally, but it was also a great way to capture the spirit of the collaboration. When both sides are trying something different that takes us out of our comfort zones, but still staying within our respected wheelhouses. It’s definitely more of a hard rock song than a heavy metal one,” explains vocalist Peter Vaughn of True The Gray.

With this newly collaborative track taking a more alternative route than their usual direction, the message within the lyrics needed to match the overall tone that the melodies were presenting.

“The emotions are more heavier in this song than in probably anything I’ve done previously, if I’m being honest. But I do think that because it is a bit unsettling of what I’m saying, it speaks to the tone of what the song is about, which is what I was going for. There’s always some kind of twist to what we do. It’s within our personalities. And I think at the end of the day, this is still us doing what we do,” said Saucillo.

“SureStay” will be available at midnight on Monday, June 29th. You can pre-order on their official Bandcamp website here:
